Found no low voltage. When tstat was replaced the transformer shorted because the air handler has no fuse Replaced transformer tested system from thermostat. Something was shorted out in the thermostat not allowing the heat pump to come on. Replaced it with a Honeywell T6 thermostat. Tested operation no other issues found.

Found noise happens when system shift into defrost. Goes away after a minute when refrigerant is moving in opposite direction noise also happens when shifts back. Nothing can be done as this system didn’t have quite shift option Checked capacitor while I was in the electrical compartment

Noise may have been when it was in defrost. I didn’t hear anything when the unit was running. All I did was listen so I’m not gonna charge for this.

123 Kent street Tested r22 refrigerant charge. Tested heat strip. Heat pump operation checked electrical connections and tstat. Compressor is drawing 7.2 A condenser fan is drawing .8 A Heat pump had a 25° temperature difference Heat strip had a 18° temperature difference 64/262. Suction line temp. 148°. Outdoor temperature 47° Everything seems to be running as designed. I can’t find anything wrong. Not sure what would be causing a high electric bill. Besides the ductwork being poorly designed.

Added SS to safety condensate switch. Mark BTUs on air handler door and also Mark data plate for the heat strip and marked KW‘s on the air handler door.

Mark KW‘s on the door marked data plate on air handler and wrote 1800 BTUs on air handler. Added SS2 condensate float switch. Put light fixture back on screw.

Was told that they had the thermostat set to 70 and it dropped to 68 at this point the heat strip should start to help back up the heat pump. Most heat pumps are designed 17° outside to maintain 67 inside. Being it was in the single digits this morning. It was below design temperature, which means it wasn’t gonna be able to keep up without the heat strips coming on. 18.5 amps on heat strips. 30° temperature difference on heat strips Heat pump 18° temperature difference. Tested operation of heat pump and stripy could not find any issues today

Replaced hot surface ignitor, . Tested boiler operation

Found gas valve not operational and hot surface ignitor nearing end of life. Recommend replacement of gas valve and hot surface ignitor to restore system operation.

Found SS two to be tripped. This was caused by a blocked J trap. Brushed out J trap and stem that feeds into it cleared the water out of the SS2 reinserted the float switch system came on no other issues found.

Found system condensate pump had failed causing float switch to turn outside unit off - replaced condensate pump and cycled system to check operation. Will provide an estimate to replace 9 indoor grills.

Replaced filter per customer request - pe formed full system diagnostic checking all electrical components, refrigerant balance, unit start up, operation, shutdown, checked drains, checked safeties. Believe problem caused by filter being plugged caused unit to ice up and overflow drain triggering float switch on unit. Treated drain line and drain pan with algae tablets. Everything runs normally at this time.

Performed AC maintenance tune up service on minisplit system checking all electrical components, refrigerant balance, unit start up, operation, shutdown, cleaning of outdoor unit, filters l, clean indoor coils and treatment of drain line.

When I arrived turned on system and went down to outdoor unit and noticed the liquid line starting to ice up. Ended up having to get a 3/8 adapter for my hoses to check refrigerant balance. Found the system was low on refrigerant. Added 2 lbs 6 oz of refrigerant and performed a leak search. I was unable to determine where the leak was. The system is currently working and has a 25 degree temperature difference, but I cannot guarantee the system doesn't have a leak and how long the refrigerant charge will last.
