Comfort Central’s Home Performance Assessment and Energy Audits
With utility bills rising, concerns for the environment and a desire to improve your indoor comfort, Comfort Central’s Home Performance Assessment (home energy audits) can help you identify areas where you can make a difference.
Heating, Cooling and Water Heating Equipment can account for up to 30 percent of your energy usage.
Typically when a heating and cooling contractor quotes replacement equipment, they quote you on the efficiency of the equipment (SEER, HSPF, AFUE, or COP.) This leads you to believe the new equipment will automatically deliver that efficiency once installed. While the newest, most efficient Energy Star equipment may help, there is no guarantee that the new equipment will deliver the stated efficiency once installed.
Studies by many utilities and universities have found that a typical installed heating and cooling system only operates at 55% to 70% of its rated capacity. The number one factor in determining your true cost of ownership is looking at your whole home.
Our Home Performance Assessment is an inspection and testing process that includes a full range of home energy audit services to determine and resolve issues related to your home’s comfort and energy use.
We will inspect your home utilizing a comprehensive check list with you, ask you a series of questions to identify any significant areas of concern. We will also inspect your heating and cooling equipment, water heater, ductwork, insulation, windows, check for gas leaks as well as perform a Combustion Analysis.
We will do a series of highly advanced testing using state–of–the–art technology such as a thermal imaging camera, blower door system, static pressure tests and/or flow hood (Actual tests, equipment and analysis performed may vary due to home.)
Utilizing the data collected during the inspection and testing phase, we will prioritize ways you can save on your energy costs.
We will put together a simple game plan so you can manage all of the energy systems in your home;from heating and cooling, to ducting, to your home’s envelope. We will present you with a "priority list" so you can do what fits into your budget and your time…things you can choose to make your home comfortable, improve your indoor air quality and get those energy bills lowered.
When you decide to proceed with some or all our recommendations, our extensive training and expertise allows us to take care of all three fundamentals in your whole home performance...heating and cooling, air filtration/distribution, and the home envelope.
This is what a home energy audit is all about. No break–the–bank surprises. Quite simply, we want to help you feel the results...with greater comfort, the safest, healthiest and lower energy costs for years to come.
