We here at Comfort Central understand you have made a substantial investment in your equipment purchase. We are also pleased you chose Comfort Central to install your equipment. For your peace of mind, we do offer Extended Warranties on our Equipment.
Our Extended Warranties are not "In House" warranties. They come directly from your equipment manufacturer. This benefits you in several ways:
- You have the backing of an International Company and all their resources.
- While we are going to do everything to ensure we remain your service company of choice, you have the ability to designate your servicing contractor. (Don't ever let a company rest on their laurels, have options!)

- If you sell your home, the warranty is transferrable to the new owner, adding value to your home. (If considering an "In House" warranty, get this in writing; else you could be held liable for misrepresenting the warranty.)
- As part of the manufacturer network, you will be notified of any Field Service or Recalls that may come about. Although rare, you will have the peace of mind of having the issue corrected before you experience a problem.
What you may not know:
- All Extended Warranties have Terms and Conditions, most prevalent is that you have the equipment serviced yearly at your expense (To make sure you stay in compliance, may we suggest our Comfort Club? We automatically make you a member the first year.
- Anyone suggesting an Extended Warranty is transferrable to a new residence is misinformed, it is purchased for the specific equipment in its specific application. If equipment is moved, the agreement as well as original Manufacturer's Warranty become null and void. If company is offering an "In House" warranty then get it in writing or consider the story below:
Caveat Emptor: I can honestly say I have heard of no contractor in North Carolina participating in this practice but I have had customers in another state who have had the misfortune. Several companies in order to drive equipment sales and position themselves above the competition offered a "Lifetime Equipment Warranty," that included Parts and Labor and had a substantial cost associated with it. As an employee of well respected, established contractor, I talked often with ownership on how these companies could offer such a promotion. It took about six (6) months to find out. After making their money off the equipment sales, they simply closed their doors, reorganized under "new ownership" (although the owner name was the same as previous companies' ownership records filed with the State) and sent a letter disavowing the warranties. For their efforts, even the Better Business Bureau wiped their record clean as they were considered a new, separate business entity.
If you insist I provide you with an "In House" Warranty (I have that ability, at less cost to me), please understand when I attempt to talk you out of it. I care too much to leave you unprotected without a third-party representative (manufacturer in this case) to go to bat for you. ~Laurie
